Kerala University is a state university in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala which has more than 150 affiliated colleges. Kerala University conducts entrance test for UG and PG courses in different sessions. This university follows Semester Examination pattern which held twice in a year. Odd semester exam held in December month and Even semester exam held in May month. Results of both of the semesters will be announced on the official website of Kerala University after one month of the examination.

Admission in B.tech will be based on the KEAM entrance exam score and MBA admission will be done on the basis of KU-CAT entrance exam scores. Exemptions from the Ph.D. Entrance Test

• Candidates who have qualified DBT-JRF, DST-INSPIRE are exempted from the Ph.D. Entrance Test and apply for Ph.D. courses.
• Candidates who have experience of 7 years and have minimum 2 research papers or students who are DM/M.Ch. Degree holder or students who are working with the Central/state government in the related areas of research are exempted from the Ph.D. Entrance Test and are eligible to apply for Ph.D. courses.

Kerala University M.Phil. and Ph.D. Admission

The University of Kerala provides admission in full-time M.Phil. program to those students who have a Bachelor’s Degree in related field with aggregate 55% marks. Kerala University also provides admission in full-time Ph.D. research course. Those candidates who hold a Master’s degree (M.Phil.) in the related field with aggregate 55% marks are eligible to get admission in Ph.D. research course. Selection in Ph.D. research course will be based on these criteria:

• Candidates have to appear in the entrance test and Personal Interview which is conducted by the University of Kerala.

Kerala University Scholarships

The University of Kerala provides scholarships to all the students based on merit. Kerala University awarded 188 Merit Scholarships of INR 2,500 per annum to every student and 169 Merit Scholarships of INR 3,000 per annum to every student.

Kerala University also offers the scholarship to those students whose family income is less than Rs. 25,000 per annum which is known as Students Aid Fund Scholarship. Amount of Students Aid Fund Scholarship is Rs. 1000 for UG students and for Pg graduates students is Rs. 1500.

Candidates have to contact their department head or college principal to apply for this scholarship. For this scholarship, students have to submit the Income Certificate of the working parent which is granted by the village officer.

Student’s Group Personal Accident Insurance Scheme [SGPAIS] will also be offered by Kerala University. In this scholarship, if any students met with an accident then their medical expenses up to Rs.25,000 are covered by this scholarship scheme and a death claim will get up to Rs. 1,00,000. Candidates have to pay a premium for this scholarship membership of Rs. 25 per student.
