University of Kerala Admission 2019: UG & PG Admission, Application process, Admission Process, Eligibility Criteria
University of Kerala a state university which was established in 1937 and situated in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Kerala University provides admission in various UG, PG and Doctoral courses in different disciplines such as Engineering, Architecture, Law, Management, Basic Sciences, Arts, Commerce and Education. This university also offers admission in different courses via the School of Distance Education (SDE). Candidates can apply online for all the courses and application forms are also available online provided by Kerala University.
- Candidates who want to get admission in B.Tech and B.Arch courses must have to obtain a valid rank in Kerala Engineering, Architecture and Medical and Pharmacy (KEAM) entrance exam which is conducted by CEE, Kerala.
- Those candidates who have qualified NATA entrance exam can also apply for B.Arch course.
- Admission in BFA, BPA and B.P.Ed courses will be based on the rank obtained entrance test followed by an aptitude test. For B.P.Ed course candidates should also have to appear in Physical proficiency test.
- Admission in rest of all UG courses will be merit-based. Students will get admission on the basis of their marks obtained in 10+2 followed by allotment rounds.
- For admission in PG courses, candidates have to qualify the entrance test followed by an interview conducted by the university. Candidates will be shortlisted based on the performance of the candidates in the entrance and interview and relevant work experience (if any).
- GATE qualified students are also eligible to apply for M.Tech courses.
- For MBA (Full-Time), admission is based on the marks obtained in KMAT, CAT or CMAT followed by GD and PI.
- For admission in M.Phil and Ph.D. courses, the university conducts an entrance test followed by an interview to invite applicants.
- Candidates who are DBT-JRF/ DST-INSPIRE/ UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ GATE/ ICAR/ ICMR or SLET qualified do not have to appear in Ph.D. entrance test means these candidates are exempted from the Ph.D. entrance test.
Kerala University Admission Process
For admission to Kerala University. There is an Online Centralized Allotment Process are organized and candidates have to appear in this process.
- A trial allotment process is conducted by the university to know about the availability of allotment to a programme and college for students.
- First allotment list will be announced on the portal of admission on the notified dates and also aware students about the second allotment.
- Allotment list contains the Personal details of the Candidate, the College, and the Programme in which candidates are enrolled and have to pay fees.
- Candidates have to Download the allotment memo which will be required at the time of Admission.
- Fees of the particular course will be paid at any of the S.B.I. Branch via special Challan method which is available on the “Allotment” Page.
- Candidates have to Log in by providing their application number and password and then enter all the necessary details of the Challan paying the fees.
- Candidates will get original pay-in-slip at the time of admission.
- Candidates who get allotment can contact the College/Institution regarding admission with all the required documents.
- After the verification of the original documents, candidates will get the admission in particular course.
University of Kerala Admission 2019 in technical courses
Kerala University provides admission in technical courses such as B.Tech and B.Arch course in different discipline. Cnandistes who have passed their 10+2 with minimum aggregate 50% marks with PCM/B are eligible to get admission. Candidates also have to qualify KEAM entrance exam with a valid score. Students who hold a rank in the NATA entrance exam can also apply for admission to B.Arch course.
There is also a selection process that is counselling session which will be organized by the Government of Kerala for KEAM qualified students. This process will be organized after the announcement of result and Candidates have to attend this counselling session.

Kerala University Application Process for UG Courses
To get admission in UG Courses students have to apply online on the official website of Kerala University. General Category Candidates need to pay the application fee of Rs 350 for whereas SC/ST Candidates have to pay only Rs. 150 online or via challan in any branch of SBI. Candidates also have to keep the copy of the challan receipt which will be required at the time of final admission.
Kerala University PG Admission 2019 in Technical and Management Courses
Kerala University provides PG admission in technical courses such as M. Tech, M.Plan, M.Arch, MBA and MCA courses in different disciplines. The university also offers MBA programs in Part-time and evening modes. Students who want to enroll in these courses must have a bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline.
Admission in MBA will be based on the rank obtained in the KMAT/ CAT or CMAT entrance exam followed by GD and PI. University of Kerala Application Process 2019 for Ph.D.
Candidates can fill the application form online and submit the registration fee of Rs. 520 via Kerala University challan receipt/Friends cash receipts/DD. In the case of DD, the candidate has to pay Rs. 10 as service charge. DD of registration fee should be drawn in the favor of ‘the Finance Officer, University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram’ which is payable at SBI Service Branch, Thiruvananthapuram and on District Co-operative Banks payable at State Co-operative Bank Head Office Branch, Thiruvananthapuram.
Exemptions from the Ph.D. Entrance Test
- Candidates who have qualified DBT-JRF, DST-INSPIRE are exempted from the Ph.D. Entrance Test and apply for Ph.D. courses.
- Candidates who have experience of 7 years and have minimum 2 research papers or students who are DM/M.Ch. Degree holder or students who are working with the Central/state government in the related areas of research are exempted from the Ph.D. Entrance Test and are eligible to apply for Ph.D. courses.
- Candidates who have qualified UGC NET JRF/ UGC CSIR NET/ GATE/ ICAR/ ICMR/ GPAT entrance exam or any other relevant entrance exam can get direct admission in Ph.D. Students who have a master degree(M.Phil) in the relevant stream are exempted from the Ph.D. Entrance Test and eligible for direct admission.
