Calicut University PG Admissions 2019-20

Calicut University is situated in Malappuram, Kerala and offers various Postgraduate courses and programmes. It provides admission in 22 postgraduate courses and programmes. University of Calicut has  30 postgraduate teaching and research departments. Candidates can apply online for Calicut University PG Admissions 2019-20.

To get admission in postgraduate courses, candidates have to follow Centralized Admission Process(CAP) for postgraduate which is conducted by the University of Calicut.

MA(Other Languages)

Must have 45% in every part like part I, Part II Languages concerned of BA/BSc. Candidates who have taken English in Part III can get a weightage 5% marks.

MA (other non language):

Must have 45% marks in Part III optional Subjects of BA/BSc to apply for Calicut University PG Admission.

Master of Arts [MA] (English)

Applicant has to Score minimum 45% in every Parts like Part I, Part II English of BA/BSc Examinations. Candidates who have taken English in Part III can get a weightage 10% marks.

Master of Arts [MA] (Economics)

Candidates have to secure 45% marks in BA related to economics streams like BA Economics, Foreign Trade, Development Economics etc. For B.Sc students, They have to obtain 70% marks in B.Sc related to economics streams like B.Sc Statistics, Mathematics etc. 30% of total seats will be reserved only for B.Sc students.

Master of Arts (Sociology), Master of Arts (History) & Master of Arts (Philosophy)

To apply for Calicut University PG Admission, Applicants have to pass and score minimum 45% marks in Part III optional Subjects of BA/BSc.

Master of Arts [MA] (Folklore Studies)

Students who want to take enroll in Calicut University PG Admission courses must have to qualify entrance test conducted by Calicut University. Candidate must have a bachelor degree from a university which is recognized by UGC and secure at least 45% marks in their graduation. Post Graduate Candidates are also eligible for this Programme.

Master of Science [M.Sc]

Candidates have a bachelor degree or B.Sc Degree in particular stream and score at least 50% marks.

To Apply for Calicut University PG Admission Courses, Applicants have to score minimum 55% marks in their relevant field like Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (General Biotechnology)

Candidates have to secure minimum 55% marks in their relevant field like Biotechnology, Bio-informatics, Biochemistry, Microbiology and any other equivalent streams for Calicut University PG Admission.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Food Science and Technology)

You must have bachelor degree with at least 50% marks in Part III optional subjects for Calicut University PG Admission.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Psychology)

Candidates must have studied Psychology as a subject and qualify the exams in Degree Part III.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Medical Radiation Physics)

Applicant has to secure 60% marks in their graduation from Calicut University or any other recognized University for Calicut University PG Admission.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Health and Yoga Therapy)

Students who want to take admission in must have to qualify entrance test conducted by Calicut University and must have to secure at least 45% marks for Calicut University PG Admission. Candidates should be passed their graduation in Medical Sciences, MBBS, BAMS, BHMS or they have graduation degree in Biological Sciences or any other Sciences/Humanities and Commerce Graduates.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Clinical Psychology)

Applicant has to secure 50% marks in their graduation and must have a bachelor degree in BA/B.Sc. Psychology, MBBS, BHMS, BAMS, B.Sc. Nursing Degree, Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology for Calicut University PG Admission.

How To Apply

To get admission in various post graduate programs and courses candidates have to follow Centralised Admission Process(CAP) which is conducted by the University of Calicut. It offers the facility to apply online in various colleges affiliated to the University for many PG courses and programmes. For admission in many courses applicant have to qualify the entrance test which is taken by the University.

Applicants can choose almost 10 colleges on a priority basis which are affiliated to the University by following simple online steps which are given on the official website of Directorate Of Admission of Calicut University.

Selection Process

Calicut University conducts entrance examination for admission in many courses like Master of Arts [MA] (Folklore Studies), Master of Science [M.Sc] (Clinical Psychology) & Master of Science [M.Sc] (Computer Science), MCA. Candidates have to qualify the entrance examination and get admission based marks scored in this exam.

For other Programmes, Admission will be based merit list. It means Calicut University set merit for other Programmes like MA, M.Sc & M.Sc (Medicine) etc. And Applicants must be scored above this merit then they can get admissions in PG Programmes for  University Teaching Departments.

Seat Availability

Calicut University reserve some seats for special category students. Here is the list of various reservation categories:

Physically Handicapped

Those candidates who are certified by the Medical Board of at least 40% disability can get admission for postgraduate programmes in Calicut University. 3% of seats are reserved for students who are physically Handicapped and have any kind of major physical disability.

Sports quota Reservation

1 seat out of 20 seats is reserved for sports students who are brilliant in sports and can get admission in PG Courses via sports quota reservation.
