Due to 21 day Lockdown in all over India, the several state governments have decided to promote the students form class 1 to class 9 without any annual examination. Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, and Puducherry governments take the decision and some other state governments are still finalizing the proposals. Many other School and Colleges exams, entrance exams and recruitment exams have also been postponed due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Here are some details are given below:-
IB School
The International Baccalaureate Board has decided to promote the class 10th and 12th classes students to the next academic year without holding any annual exam for the first time in history. The Exam will be basically conducted in the month of May but due to COVID-19 the board of IB school takes a decision that no exam will be held for the students who study under the IB Board.
The students from India who study under the IB will be impacted by this decision.
Jharkhand Board
The Jharkhand board took a decision to promote the students, due to rising number of cases of COVID-19 across the country. The government announced a 21 day Lockdown to curb the spread of the CoronaVirus in the country. Due to the 21 day lockdown the Jharkhand Government took a decision to promote class 5 to class 7 students without appearing in the annual examination.
Tamil Nadu Board
The Tamil Nadu state is the third state to announce promotion to all the students in the state of Tamil from class 1 through 9 to the higher class without holding or appearing for any Exam. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, K Palaniswami announced the decision of the state government keeping health and welfare of the students in mind. DGET TN had also announced the TN 11th Public Exam will be Postponed in the state.
GTU Exams
The Gujarat Technological University has locked down the GTU campus and postponed all the GTU Summer Exams 2020 that were scheduled to be held in April – May 2020 due to CVID-19. The University of GTU announced the confirmed decision to postpone Summer Exams on the official notification published on its website. The government has also announced complete lockdown of the campus and the students to stay away from campus until further notice. All information about exams and academic matters will be rescheduled and published to the GTU official website and other online platforms.
Tripura Board Exam
Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) announced to cancel the Tripura Board Exam 2020 in the state for the reason of the Coronavirus outbreak in the country. The TBSE 23 March 2020 issued a notification on the official website confirming that all board exams scheduled until 31 March 2020 have been canceled by the Board and the new date will be announced on the official website. New dates for the Tripura Board 10th and 12th Exam 2020 will be released by the TBSE board at a later date.
AP SSC Exam 2020
AP Education Minister announced that AP SSC Exam 2020 for 10th Class students has been postponed due to the reason of COVID-19 and the lockdown. The minister joined a press meet in which he said that the AP 10th Board Exam 2020 which was to start from 31st March 2020 have been postponed by at least two weeks and more. The minister also said that the new AP SSC Exam 2020 date sheet will be announced by the BSEAP official site soon to help students prepare for the board exam accordingly. Bihar BEd CET Exam 2020
Bihar BEd CET 2020 Exam which was scheduled to be held on 29th March 2020 has been postponed for the reason of COVID-19. The session of 2020 to Bihar CET BEd Exam was to be conducted by Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga to facilitate screening of candidates to the BEd programme offered by various colleges based in the state of India. However, looking at the pri-condition due to Coronavirus outbreak and the directions issued by UGC and state government of Bihar Bihar. The exam of B.Ed CET 2020 has been postponed until further notice by the Bihar Government.
AMU BA LLB Exam 2020
Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has also announced cancellation of all admission and departmental tests, including AMU BA LLB 2020 exam due to the reason of COVID-19. The decision was taken by the varsity as a precautionary measure against the COVID-19 outbreak in the whole country. At this time, no new dates have been announced for the entrance exam but the exam is expected to issue revised timeline and schedule for the same soon and the Date will be released in the official website of AMU.
VITEEE 2020 Exam Postponed
Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has decided to postpone the VITEEE 2020 exam considering the current situation due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the country. In addition to postponing the examination of VITEEE, the institute of VIT has also decided to extend the application deadline for VITEEE 2020 Exam until further notice to enable candidates who missed out on applying earlier and the date will be announced as soon as possible in the official website of VIT.
Maharashtra to promote 1st to 8th Class students without exams
The Maharashtra Government has decided to cancel all school level examinations for primary and upper primary classes. According to the Maharashtra government notification, students of Class 1st to 8th will be promoted to the next class without any exams due to the COVID-19. The decision of cancelling the exam and promoting students without any exam was announced by Maharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad while interacting with media persons. She also added that exams for 9th and 11th Class students will be held after 15th of April 2020 and the date was announced by Maharashtra Government.
J&K Administration For Work From Home
The Jammu & Kashmir government has released a notice for all teaching and non-teaching staff members to teach students in the ‘Work From Home’ policy as classwork has been suspended in the UT following the outbreak of Coronavirus. The order of government that only the headmasters/ ZEOs / Principles/ CEOs/ HODs etc are allowed to enter the school premises but they are also to maintain social distancing no students and teachers are allowed to enter the school campus. Various universities of the region also announced the following guidelines issued by UGC and MHRD.
NVS TGT 2019 Interview Postponed
The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has released the notification on the official website and has decided to postpone NVS TGT interview dates following the Coronavirus outbreak in the country. The notification stated that the NVS TGT Interview will be conducted from 16th March 2020 to 28th March 2020. Now, seeing the circumstances of COVID-19, the Samiti has issued an order that all interviews after 19th March 2020 have been postponed until further notice and the notification will be released on the official website of NVS.
Kerala SSLC Exam
A high level meeting organized by Kerala Government has decided to postpone SSLC / 10th Class and Class 12 Exams due to the reason of COVID-19 and lockdown. In SSLC 10th and 12th Exams, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also announced that University and School level examinations have also been postponed by the board until further notice.
GUJCET 2020 Exam
Due to the COVID-19, Gujarat Secondary Education Board (GSEB) has postponed the all GUJCET 2020 exam. The Gujarat Common Entrance Test 2020 is a state level entrance exam which was to be held on 31st March 2020 to screen candidates for admission to engineering and pharmacy programmes. As of now the exam has been postponed and will now be held after 15th April 2020.
Punjab Board Exam Postponed
The Government of Punjab School Examination Board (PSEB) has postponed the exam for all the pending papers for both 10th and 12th Class students. Punjab Board has released the notification of postponed all the exams that were scheduled to be held between 20thMarch 2020 and 31st March 2020 in the reason of COVID-19 outbreak.
CGBSE Board Exams 2020 Postponed
Chhattisgarh Board has decided to postpone the on-going CGBSE 10th and 12th Board Exam 2020 until 31st March 2020. According to the previous data sheet the CG Board 10th Exam 2020 was to be held from 3rd to 26th March 2020 while Class 12 Exams were to be held from 2nd to 31st March 2020. After postponement, students who had papers left after 20th March will now have to appear for those exams after 31st March 2020. The rescheduled dates for Chhattisgarh Board Exam 2020 will be announced at a later date by the board of CGBSE.
SSC CHSL Exam 2020 Postponed
The Staff Selection Commission released the notification on the official website of SSC that SSC CHSL Exam 2020 scheduled to be held on 20th March 2020 has been postponed. The commission has also postponed the SSC JE Exam 2020 which was to be held on 30th March and 2 April 2020. The statement confirming postponement of the SSC Exams was issued by Under Secretary H. L. Prasad.
DAVV UG Exams
Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore has also announced postponement of all undergraduate level exams scheduled. 1.3 lakh students from the varsity were registered to appear for DAVV UG Exam 2020 starting soon. DAVV vice chancellor Dr Renu Jain released a notification which said that all exams have been postponed in line with the government’s order. MP Board Exam 2020
MP Board has cancelled the 10th and 12th classes Board Exams due to COVID-19 in India. The official notification published by the MP Board, all exams including High School and Primary School have been postponed. The MP Board released the notification on the official website of MP Board by the instructions of MP Government.
Bihar DElEd Exam 2020
The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has decided to postpone Bihar DElEd Exam 2020 due to coronavirus. The Bihar DElEd Entrance Exam was scheduled to be held on 28 March, but the same has now been postponed until further notice. The tentative around 1.81 lakh candidates have registered for the Bihar Diploma Elementary Education 2020 Entrance Test.
Rajasthan University
Rajasthan University has also announced that it is postponing all the examinations for UG and PG students. The university stated that all examinations, including those to be held by colleges affiliated with the University of Rajasthan will now be postponed and new or revised dates for the same will be announced at a later stage. The university has also advised students to keep visiting the official website to get the latest notifications.
ICSE 10th and 12th Exam 2020
CISCE Board has decided to postpone ICSE 10th Exam 2020 and ISC 12th Exam 2020 for the reason of COVID-19. The ICSE board announced its decision to cancel all exams scheduled with the MHRD order issued through notification. The notification stated that the previous dates for conduct of remaining papers shall be notified in due course of time. ICSE board has also communicated to all the schools to ensure that concerned students, teachers and parents are informed of this decision.
Haryana Board Exam 2020
Haryana Board has postponed all exams which were scheduled in March. The BSEH 10th and 12th Exam 2020 are also postponed in the view of the Coronavirus outbreak in the country.Haryana Board will be issuing fresh dates for the postponed examinations. Haryana Board has also issued a notification confirming the same exam held on another date. The board of Haryana also notified that the measure has been implemented as a precautionary move for safety and health of the students.
Rohilkhand University
Rohilkhand University has released the notification of postponed all exams. Rohilkhand University Controller of Examinations Dr Sanjeev Kumar Sinh has said that revised dates for examinations will be announced by the instructions of Governments. The university also has cancelled all exams and all teaching related activities, teachers, university administration officials are still required to be present at the university during this period.
Kendriya Vidyalaya Cancel, Postpone Exams
Kendriya Vidhyalaya across the country have decided to cancel the exams altogether or postpone them until April 2020 due to COVID-19. The decision to cancel the exam was taken at a high powered committee in which it was decided that exams of all classes students are cancelled and the new date will be released by the instructions of the Government.
CUK and CUS Exams
Cluster University Srinagar (CUS) has also postponed all examinations scheduled to be held by the order of Srinagar District Administration. CUS has also postponed the admission process for first semester students until further notice. Students have been asked to vacate hostels, as all hostels are expected to be locked and sealed until further notice due to the reason of COVID-19.
JKBOSE, Kashmir University
Jammu and Kashmir Board (JKBOSE) has decided to cancel all examinations for Summer and Winter zone students and reschedule the same after reviewing the situation around COVID-19. Kashmir University has also postponed all exams of undergraduate and postgraduate exams.
